Helen Beech is partner in the employment team, and Director of Forbury People, an HR consultancy owned by Clarkslegal.

Helen has over 20 years’ experience in employment and HR related matters. She has been involved in a significant number of high profile employment matters ranging from complex restructurings, change programmes and TUPE transfers to acting for both companies and individuals negotiating settlement packages, often in situations involving complex discrimination issues, ranging from disability, transgender and race discrimination as well as equal pay cases, often combined with whistleblowing allegations and reputation management challenges.

Helen is frequently recognised as a leading lawyer by a number of the legal guides including Chambers and Legal 500 for her focus on complex restructures, change programmes and TUPE matters. She also supports clients with finding solutions through training and employee engagement programmes.

Her expertise and longstanding trusted relationships with clients ensures practical and commercial solutions for businesses, drawing on other practice areas and specialist experience within the HR consultancy.



Regularly advising UK and international companies on major collective redundancy/ restructuring programmes, on the impact of change and the practical aspects of process, including the collective consultation, trade union relations, elections, selection methods, communications and appeals. Including, identifying the support mechanisms and processes in place to ensure positive employee engagement post restructure.

TUPE and business transfers

Helen regularly advises both small and large clients on the implications of TUPE related matters, managing the consultation processes and protective award risks, as well as limiting risks through the drafting of warranties and indemnities wherever possible.

Pension changes and auto-enrolment

Helen has supported a number of major clients during the process of implementing changes to or closures of final salary or other pension schemes, managing the election process from start to finish, including the auto-enrolment process, working with pension advisors to those facing the enrolment challenge.

Discrimination and harassment

Helen regularly supports clients in discrimination from the recruitment process right through to termination covering harassment, age and disability discrimination, reasonable adjustments and stress/depression related conditions. Tailor made training and one-to-one mentoring is offered as part of defence to discrimination claims.
