27 April 2012 #Employment
The International Labour Organisation (ILO)’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work takes place on 28th April 2012.
The theme this year is green jobs headlined as “promoting safety and health in a green economy”.
According to the ILO’s website “As the green economy develops, it is essential that safety and health at work are integrated into green jobs policies..... A true green job must integrate safety and health into design, procurement, operations, maintenance, sourcing and recycling policies, certification systems and OSH quality standards.”
Further guidance on health and safety law, together with practical advice on what this means for employers can be found in Employmentbuddy’s health and safety guidance notes available to our full members. Employers interested in green issues may also find Employmentbuddy’s sustainable workplace HR policy and sustainable workplace policy guidance notes of interest again available to our full members.
