A former unsuccessful Britain`s Got Talent contestant is bringing legal action against Simon Cowell.
The Claimant, Emma Czikai, suffers from a condition called cervical spine neuritis and has made allegations the show discriminated against her because of her condition. Czikai says that her condition causes severe neck pain and headaches. When it comes to performing, she claims the sound levels need to be balanced carefully.
She auditioned for Cowell and the panel of judges last year with a rendition of You Raise Me Up but failed to make it through to the first round.
Ms Czikai agreed to appear on the ITV2 spin-off show Britain`s Got More Talent, on the condition that the show`s producers made it clear she suffered from an illness.
However, Czikai alleges that producers failed to make it clear when the show aired, making her look like a "fool" and prompting her to file an official complaint with the employment tribunal.
Executives at Cowell`s production company, Syco, and Freemantle Media have also been named in the complaint.
