Clarkslegal’s international legal alliance, TAGLaw, recently held its 31st international conference from October 20th through 22nd in Hong Kong, attended by our Managing Partner, David Rintoul. Also in attendance at the conference were members of TAGLaw’s affiliate alliances, TIAG® (The International Accounting Group) and TAG-SP™. All three alliances are collectively known as the TAG Alliances™.
David explained how important this alliance and its conferences are to Clarkslegal: “A great many of our clients have for a long time and are increasingly working overseas, exploiting opportunities for profitable growth that overseas markets present. It is therefore important that our firm can support that growth and provide significant added value to our clients by introducing them as may be necessary to law firms that operate across 90 countries. Taglaw is an international network, that we are founder members of, of like minded independent medium sized law firms, all of whom are thoroughly vetted and approved before being able to join. The network’s regular international conferences therefore allow us opportunity to meet these different firms, build relationships and understand their respective areas of expertise and resource. This in turn enables us to make referrals to our clients, and as we do in fact do on a very regular basis, in full confidence that our clients will receive the same levels of service quality from these firms as they expect to and do receive from us. In addition, we use these conferences to promote our own specialist services provided in support of inward investment into England, to include support on property, employment and immigration issues. The network also provides us with opportunity to promote for the benefit of our clients and friends our own Forbury Investment Network, set up to help early stage businesses access advice and equity finance for growth, and which is in turn now operating the unique Commonwealth Environmental Investment Platform (CEIP) in alliance with the Royal Commonwealth Society. Launched in March 2013 the CEIP now works through some 14 independent affiliated hubs around the Commonwealth, one or two with the support of other network firms, serving already half the countries and most of the population of the Commonwealth. The CEIP is particularly focused on promoting international trade and investment for sustainable development of emerging economies and low carbon economic growth. It works with entrepreneurs, investors and businesses, in the UK and Europe as well as other Commonwealth countries (and internationally beyond the Commonwealth), involved in sustainable technology, such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, smart city development, and environmental challenges from climate change and resource scarcity.”
"We are excited to again host a TAG Alliances international conference in Asia," said Robert Sattin, President of the TAG Alliances. "Our membership there is strong, active and growing and our members from all over the world are finding their clients looking at China and Southeast Asia as growing markets. With presentations on the regional economy, culture, laws and tax regimens, our members will find themselves leaders in their home communities on doing business in Asia-Pacific”
