22 April 2015 #Clarkslegal
Last Sunday, April 19th, Clarkslegal’s nominated charity Contact the Elderly celebrated their 50th anniversary, with almost 10,000 volunteers and elderly guests meeting for afternoon tea nationwide.
Together with the two Reading based groups, Clarkslegal’s Reading office enjoyed an afternoon of tea, cake and pleasant conversation, with smiles all-round signifying that the elderly guests had a wonderful time.
Contact the Elderly aim to tackle loneliness in isolated individuals above the age of 75 by hosting monthly tea parties to facilitate social interaction and the formation of new friendships, and Clarkslegal is proud to be supporting such a worthwhile cause.
Our big ‘FifTEA’ celebrations were a huge success and we have received nothing but great feedback from our guests, with one exclaiming that she felt as if she was “halfway to heaven” and others expressing that they were “looking forward to their next visit already.”
Stephen James, Partner and head of Clarkslegal’s Charity Committee added “we are delighted to continue our association with Contact the Elderly and we are looking forward to hosting further tea parties later on this year.”
