A survey for Aon Consulting has revealed that one in five UK workers feigned an illness the last time they took a day off work sick.
The UK was the worst performer in the survey compared to the rest of Europe!
The survey found that Danes were the least likely to feign illness to get time off work - 4% said admitted to "pulling a sickie" that last time they were off, compared to 21% of those in the UK.
An Aon representative said: "Employers would be well advised to tackle the issues of sickness and workplace absence head-on, as these seriously impact efficiency and hit their balance sheets."
