David Cameron struggles with Citizenship test questions

27 September 2012 #Immigration

David Cameron appeared on the Late Show with Letterman last night to promote British business following the Olympics. The Prime Minister soon became unsettled when Letterman asked him questions from the Citizenship test that migrants to the UK are required to sit. Having answered a few questions incorrectly, the Prime Minister is quoted as saying “...You have found me out”, “...That is bad” and “...You are testing me”.

The UK Border Agency requires individuals settling in the UK to pass the Citizenship test in order to promote their integration to British society. However the test has received strong criticism since its introduction for factual errors and being out of date. There have also been allegations that most British Citizens would fail the test thereby questioning the integration purpose.
