Clarkslegal’s Construction team is pleased to confirm the recent recruitment of Victoria Kempthorne, a newly qualified solicitor, and Stanley Kamalu, a paralegal/trainee, to their ever-expanding team of construction, engineering and energy professionals.
Victoria, a former in-house legal professional, has expertise across a range of industry sectors including transport, energy, waste, health and education. Her specialisms lie in drafting and negotiating bespoke appointment documents, and in advising public and private sector clients on the contractual risks associated with project delivery, as well as all forms of construction industry dispute resolution.
Victoria‘s enthusiasm and dedication to the construction industry is evidenced through her membership at the Society of Construction Law, with whom Clarkslegal have recently co-hosted successful events, and through her board membership at Generation for Change, a sub-group of Construction Excellence whose efforts focus on empowering the next generation to change the construction industry for the better.
Stanley, a former paralegal at a large city and national law firm, specialises in non-contentious construction law, with particular expertise in complex contract drafting and reviews, general legal advice and contractual negotiations. Stanley has acted on behalf of a variety of construction professionals, as well as insurers and insureds. He has helped to deliver a range of legal seminars for a variety of audiences and he also has prior experience in an in-house corporate team.
David Rintoul, Managing Partner and Head of Construction, is delighted with these new appointments, adding as they will to the strength and breadth of the team’s expertise:
“We are delighted to welcome both Victoria and Stanley to the firm and our highly regarded market leading team, both of whom already have significant industry experience having worked respectively for a multi-disciplinary design consultancy and city law firm. With the much appreciated support of our clients and friends, we have this past year continued to see steady growth in the niche specialist industry work that we undertake for developers, owner/occupiers, contractors, sub-contractors, consultants and insurers, with many new client mandates having been secured. Victoria’s and Stanley’s arrival will help us to continue to deliver excellent quality and cost effective specialist services and we look forward to their contribution and support.”
