26 February 2013 #Clarkslegal
On Saturday 23rd February Clarkslegal staff volunteered at a local Cardiff supermarket to help boost donations to the Cardiff Foodbank, one of our three nominated charities for our centenary year.
Cardiff Foodbank is a part of the National Foodbank Network. It is a project to help and support those suffering financial hardship and who are facing the reality of being unable to feed themselves or their families.
Collecting at supermarkets is one way the Foodbank increases its food parcel supplies, where shoppers are asked to purchase one or two extra items from a list and hand them to volunteers after the checkout process.
Clarkslegal donated eight volunteering hours as part of our centenary initiative to help hand leaflets out as shoppers came through the doors and also to collect and sort the food as it was received. Saturday’s collection was extremely successful and a total of 652.8kgs of food was received throughout the day.
If anyone is interested in becoming a supermarket volunteer please do not hesitate to contact the Clarkslegal marketing team who can pass your details on to Cardiff Foodbank.
