08 May 2017 #Clarkslegal
As a part of our commitment to raising both awareness and funds for chosen charities, Clarkslegal have announced which organisations we will be supporting for the future: Magic Breakfast and Contact the Elderly.
Magic Breakfast are a registered charity who ensure that no child is too hungry to learn, through the provision of healthy breakfast food and expert support to schools. A hungry child cannot concentrate so will miss out on half a day of lessons, every day, if not given anything to eat. They support schools with 35% or more pupils eligible for free school meals, or with 50% Ever 6 FSM, delivering nutritious food and bespoke advice on the optimum way to reach every malnourished and vulnerable child.
Carmel McConnell, Founder and Chief Executive of Magic Breakfast: "Half a million children in the UK start their school day too hungry or malnourished to learn. Clarkslegal LLP are supporting Magic Breakfast to give many of these vulnerable schoolchildren a healthy, happy start to the day and the chance to do well in their lessons. A big thank you from everyone at Magic Breakfast".
Contact the Elderly is the only national charity solely dedicated to tackling loneliness and social isolation among older people. They do this by organising monthly Sunday afternoon tea parties for small groups of older people (aged 75+) who live alone, and volunteers within their local community, offering a regular and vital friendship link every month.
The team at Clarkslegal aim to help and support these causes by any means necessary, including volunteering at fundraising events, raising awareness and with monetary donations.
