I specialise in employment and discrimination law. I joined Clarkslegal in January 2018 having trained at a regional firm acting for a mixture of employers and individuals and then moving to a large leading firm in the city acting solely for employees for two years.
I now act for a mixture of employers and individuals in all aspects of employment from recruitment to termination including post-employment issues such as tribunal claims.
I always aim to give clear and commercial advice to my clients and try to find a cost-effective resolution that suits my client’s needs and objectives.
I assist with general day to day employment issues such as grievances, disciplinaries, long term sickness absence, working time queries, preparation of contracts, performance issues and much more.
I have experience in managing tribunal claims for both employers and individuals at all stages of the process. I will also work with my client to negotiate and settle claims where appropriate and in line with my client’s objectives.
I have a particular interest in employment relationships with an international element and have previously advised on the territorial reach of UK legislation in cross boarder employment relationships as well as managing a preliminary hearing in respect of this and preparing for an appeal in the EAT.
I have spent 2 years acting solely for individuals and advising on a range of issues from reviewing contracts, disputes over restrictive covenants, negotiating exits, handling grievance processes, challenging performance reviews and managing specialist internal processes such as university tribunals. I also have experience of preparing and managing a variety of employment tribunal claims including discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal and harassment.
