ACAS have published social networking guidance. It gives some tips on managing performance, recruitment/disciplinary issues, grievances, bullying, defamation, data protection and privacy.
The use of social networks can be a minefield and create many interesting and varied issues for employers which are being seen more and more in Tribunal cases.
It is wise to have a written policy in place on the use of social networking and social media. ACAS have provided guidance on developing such a policy or a policy is available free on Employmentbuddy.
